What does it mean to be a writer inspired by the arts?
- You are an established writer who also works in another art form and want to share that inspiration with others.
- You are a newer writer and are open to new forms of inspiration.
- You use visual imagery, music, dance, or other art forms to brainstorm or illustrate writing topics and would love to see what others are doing with other art forms.
- You write memoir and refer to old photographs to dig deeper into the details.
Or maybe you are simply looking for other sources of inspiration.
Writers Inspired by the Arts (WIA) is a virtual writing community for you and like-minded writers to work in companionship and support each other.
Each session is now delivered in via Substack Live and features a writer sharing the way they incorporate the arts into their cretivity toolkits.
This community is organized and facilitated by Sheri Handel, former Columbia, ex-McKinsey, lifelong writer, teacher, and learning designer.
Photographs are a part of my writing toolkit. Yes, I certainly use old family photographs in many of my memoir pieces. But I take photos every day and see so much more now; it's as if I'm capturing the thoughts a particular scene has inspired in me. And sometimes I write about that. -Sheri Handel
